What kind of paperwork would I have to go through or is it even legal to sell a supressor individual to individual?

As far as selling it privately your gonna have to go through a class 3 dealer iirc?? The buyer will do the paperwork for the tax stamp. It will still take just as long as it already does. Good luck on the sale.

It's kind of a pain in the butt, but really no more than getting a suppressor in the first place. I'd recommend doing this:
You're going to use a form 3 to transfer it to an FFL/SOT. From there, the FFL/SOT will transfer it to the buyer once their form 4 is approved (just like how you bought it in the first place).
You've pretty much only got to fill out the Form 3 and get it approved.
However, if you're selling to a buyer in-state, you don't have to go through an FFL/SOT. The buyer will have their Form 4 approved by the ATF, and then you can let them have their new toy.
DISCLAIMER- I am not an FFL/SOT, and my advice should not be considered 100% lawful, as there is much misinformation in circulation about firearm laws, especially those covered by the NFA.

I know that you have decided to keep it, but here is the answer you are looking for.
Since you own the can on a Form 4, you can sell it in state to any individual, trust, or other entity on a Form 4. IT MUST BE IN STATE. That means you, the owner, are the transferor. Your information goes in box 3a. The transferee's (the purchaser) information goes in box 2a. Once the paperwork is approved, you can send the item (in this case a suppressor) in the mail or do a face to face, as long as it stays in the state.
If you are selling out of state, you must Form 4 the item to a dealer in the state of the purchaser. The dealer has to pay the $200 tax stamp (this is why people don't usually sell used cans). The dealer will then Form 4 (once his form 4 is approved)the item to the purchaser which costs another $200.
Once it is on a Form 4, it is transferred on a Form 4.
This generally does not happen with suppressors, but it does with machine guns a lot. I have one in the safe that came to me on a Form 4 out of state and is now on a Form 4 to the buyer in state. Too much freaking paperwork.

As a potential purchaser I'm looking at sen a form 4 directly to the BATFE with a $200 check and once it clears the seller can transfer to item to me as an individual. And I would need to send an amendment to my trust as well I assume? And this can all be done as an individual?

If you want the item to go into your trust, then it needs to be transferred to your trust. You would send your trust with schedule A into the ATF. Your trust information would go in box 2a. of the form 4.

Would I still be required to send another $200 check, or since I was previously approved it would just be a matter of waiting till its added to my trust?

If it was approved to you as an individual, then yes, you would have to pay $200 and transfer from you, the individual, to your trust.
