My dad shot an approx 225 lbs sow today and when we gutted her, she was FULL of babies! We pulled out 8 baby piglets. The were fully formed and even had tiny tusks already, Insane. She has two inches of fat all ovr her at least. I did take pictures of the babes and will post them up probably tomorrow. He took her with a Savage 270 at 150 yards and was a perfectly centered head shot.
OK heres my question. Anyone eats the unborn piglets? I skinned one out and it look just like a skinned out large squirrel or small rabbit. Was thinking they would be pretty good either fried in the skillet or thrown on the grill. Wha do yall think? I know it may seem gross, but its just a tiny pig. Anyone ever tried it, know anyone who has or do you think you WOULD try it?
And, wow, 9 pigs that wont be destroying my property next year with one bullet. Cool!

Pigglet Veal. should be tender and very mild flavored. Long as eating unborn critters doesn't bother you.

I have cooked several whole on the grill and smoker. They are great! Just gut and skin it, rub it down with what ever seasoning you like and throw it on the fire. You wont be dissapointed.

We skinned out three of them and will try them tomorrow. I threw the others in a ziplock and put them in the freezer. If we like them, Ill do the rest, if not, the dogs get a nice treat! Here are the pictures. We forgot to take pictures until after we had it skinned and gutted.

had a lease member shoot a sow the other day, had 6 or so piglets in her belly, he felt bad about it. I called him a &%&^$%$ and said thanks for shooting several pigs for us
Nicely done

Ok everyone, we cooked three of them this morning with breakfast. Cooked them in a cast iron skillet in bacon grease. I took picture, they looked delicious. Too bad it was NASTY! The texture of the meat was like a spongy fat. Just a horrible texture to bite into. We all tried a bite and it was a unanimous YUCK! Well, it was worth a shot lol. At least the momma will taste YUMMY!

We cooked some small piglets we shot with a 12 guage, and they were rubbery also. I didn't like them at all. They need to got to about 40-50 lbs or so for me to want to eat them.
