For rifle I'd take the new FN made Winchesters. As far as shotguns go I'd put a feild grade 101 over a Browning, the new 101's are made in the FN plant in Belgium. The old 101's are great as well since they were made at the same plant in Japan.

I own both a 700 and a 70 and just about the only time my 700 comes out of the safe is when I let my dad or another family member use it.

So I guess that means your choice between Remington and Winchester is Remington with their R-15 platform. Their parent company also owns Bushmaster and DPMS...

My vote is Remington, but I have zero experience shooting Winchester shotguns. I own two and am currently in a heated love affair with my Versa Max, and also have an 1100 Premier Sporting in 20ga. The Versa Max is awesome and has moved my Benelli Super Black Eagle to the back of the safe.

Thank for such a value add... You're very welcome sir. I see no reason to own a traditional rifle when my ARs accomplish everything and more.

I own both and like both. Can't go wrong with either one.
Enjoy the experience and take home the memories!

They were plenty accurate if the screw at the end of the stock is removed.

I've always thought the actions on Winchesters were smoother, hence my collection of Model 70s. However, my son has had no problem collecting meat with his Remington .25-06.

If it's rifles I prefer Winchesters, only because I like to pull the trigger on my own to have it go off. Shotguns, I would go SX3 over the heavier 11 based Rems. In the end...Winchester
