Where's your boy Curly?

I also have a couple of those running around on my place. Certainly is frustrating, but can't do anything about it.

Wrong in every way. AR's are to promote a better age structure. TPWD got tired of seeing over 60% of bucks being shot yearlings.

Just another bunk statistic thrown in the mix to make AR's look legit. Everyone knows you will see more young deer than mature on any given hunt.

X2 I spoke to a TPWD Biologist last year and he said the same thing about the reason for AR's. I think the average age of the deer population prior to AR's was 1 1/2. Interested in seeing what the average age is now with several years of AR's?

Shoot it anyway and dont tell anyone. Its not like you have to check the deer in at a check station.

Only if you believe age is solely determined by inside spread. There are lots of 2.5 year old deer that are 13".

AR on your place is in its 4th year..and your worried about one deer on low fence, that 4.5 years.

But from your other pics it looks like age class is getting better every year.

Personally that one deer looks to be a small price to pay to get the other good deer some age on them.

IMO via your pics it looks like your place is getting better every year

I think that first deer will make 13 next year if there's some rain and better groceries.

That second deer pic.....not much hope for that one.

There is no question the deer are getting better.

I have 3 3-yr-olds and a whole handful of 2 year olds that are very, very promising right now. 5 years ago, they'd all have been shot, no question about it.

I'm not complaining about ARs, I love them.
