I hunt in east texas and i really want a buck here before the season crashes to an end... I have plenty of items for pullin in a buck in the rut... but now that it aint so hot i need help. I have none of my stands have any bucks visiting the feeder in the last 3 weeks... but i know the bucks are there because ive caught glimpses of em walkin in places where i cant shoot... i have 4 different options. hunt my stand on the pipeline where no deer have been at the feeder but they have crossed it. hunt at the end of it where i can see a big oppening and down the pipeline.. hunt in an oak bottom with no feeder where i can see about 200 yds one way about 100 another and about 50 the other two ways... or go to my small oak bottom with low visibility and a feeder in it.

I would hunt the pipe line. We had a buddy let us hunt his place in streetmen a few years ago that was the only place to hunt. It always seem to pay off in the end.

We had a very poor acorn crop this year, so I would eliminate option 3.

We had a very poor acorn crop this year, so I would eliminate option 3. We have been very surprised to see acorns still falling in Houston County. In fact, I saw five doe standing underneath a pasture oak early Saturday morning eating acorns. The deer are evidently finding plenty to eat somewhere because they're hardly touching our food plots. As for the original post, take time off and hunting during the middle of the week if you can. This late in the season, the deer just seem to know when the weekend rolls around.

Had a decent acorn crop in northern Nacogdoches county. The deer were all in good shape.

My dad and I hunted Nacadoches and Luftkin for about 5 years. Feeders never helped us much and we never saw bucks under the feeders especially. We would use tree cimbers in the creek beds.

Hunt the deer and not let them hunt you. Look for the most sign on a native food source and carry corn in and hand feed it. Pick you a great spot for the sun/wind direction and hunt it.
