If its 204, 223, 243, or 6mm send it to me and I'll test it for you and let you know if it was any good!

I have ammo that is more than 4 years old that I shoot occasionally. No problem with accuracy or function.

It's probably good unless it soaked in water for some time and it leeched into the powder/primer. Buff it lightly with some steel wool to polish the case so it doesn't stick in your chamber, load, squeeze the trigger - if it goes bang, it's OK! I would test a few at the range before I used any for hunting, tho!
There is plenty of old ammo out there but you can't compare standard with milsurp as the military stuff is usually sealed well!

I have shot ammo over 50 years old before without any issues. Most corrosion I see on older ammo is where the bullet is seated in the case. I assume this is probably some sort of reaction between the copper bullet and brass case but I dont know for sure. Either way I have never had any problems shooting any of it.

I've fired stuff from the late .40's that was pretty darn accurate. I know you can still get WWII stuff and shoot some of it.
If the powder isn't clumped together it should be fine.
2-3 year old stuff? That's nothing. Post again in another 40 years when it gets really tarnished.
As long as it was stored inside someplace and kept dry....shouldn't be a problem.
