Best for small food plots

What is the best thing to plant for a small food plot. I would like to keep the deer interested a little longer and possibly help suppliment thier diet as much as possible. Any suggestions??

winter oats, winter weat, rye grass...all three...just one...dnt matter...the rye grass grows the best in cold wet conditions

How small is small? If you are talking about an acre or less, the plot would be more of an attractant and will provide minimal supplement. Especially if you are talking spring plots. For winter plots, oats,wheat,rye and winter peas make a good mix
Spring plots can be planted with a variety of peas. Just pray for rain and hope the deer don't eat it out in a week. There have been many thread about this topic in the past with a lot more details. Might try a search for some good reading
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Might try a search for some good reading Also is it rocky soil, sandy soil, cattle be able to graze it, can you till it and do you have equipment do something with it?
