Is it just me, or has there been a lot fewer phtotos of deer being shared here this season.

Has the ongoing drought taken such a toll on deer that people aren't taking as many that are worth posting a picture?

Maybe we should start a doe pic posting thread...at this point in my season, taking a doe would suit me fine!

Probably has to due with the both sides of the being a donkey comments

Aka-
LF or pet
Or would of been a stud in two years
Or that deer doesn't make AR's
Or you used a guide you can't hunt
Or only rich people can shoot big deer ect.

I've had conversations with four different people talking them into posting their deer( some big some smaller)

It's probably because every time a photo is posted someone has to jump in and criticize the poster because the deer is either too young, was shot on a high fence ranch, the shot was unethical, etc. That is just my guess...

Wait and see if I get lucky enough to shoot a spike or doe this season! My freezer is empty and I'm still skunked. I'll post and say bring it!

I didn't post my buck from this year - or last year for that matter - as I didn't want or need to hear the comments regarding age etc.

And that's sad in a way because the two bucks were my first ever and I likely would have enjoyed sharing. This year's was actually a pretty nice 8 point that looked HUGE when I took him. But that ground shrinkage thing kicked in, and - well... you know the story...

Congrats on your first two bucks!!! My first buck had buttons and my second I thought was a 150in monster 8 pt that scored 98 inches. He does still set proudly on my wall next to my big deer that I have been blessed to take.

I had an old timer over one day...guy that was pretty much a ph and hunted around the world several times.. he saw my game room and passed all my other deer and walk right up to that little eight and said tell me the story of this guy...

He figured it was my first buck and told me after I told him the story that we always remember that first one better then the others..then he told me about his first deer.

Be proud of those deer and the stories and anticipatation that went along with them

Me too brother. I don'thave a high fenced, profesionally managed and controlled lease to use. My deer are all low fence and free range with little more than some corn for supplements. I've taken a few, in my opinion, decent deer the last 2 seasons, but after seeing guys like me get basically crucified because there deer weren't monster stud bucks, I decided to keep em to myself.

I love this forum, but don't need the criticism nor recriminations of others to bring me down.

So, there we are.......... texas

always room for another buddy!

some folks consider them meat and work... heck, I was on a plane heading home when it hit me that I hadn;t taken the first picture of the cow elk we shot, and they were our first elk to hit the ground.

I posted mine up from this year and it got a total of four or five responses. I think alot dont whant to post what they have they just want to see everyone elses..

Ill post whatever I shoot, im not ashamed of them in any way and no matter what any on here say about them I wont be. Always somone gonna be a jack leg and say its young or small or criticize your shot. I love seeing the pictures and am happy to see all the others, I see alot of stuff on here that I would never have seen looking at just my deer.

I am, but I knew it was work before we pulled the trigger. Packs got emptied, phone put in the jeep so it didn;t get left on a mountain and a lot of back strength dragging those heavy things down the mountain to a road so we could get a 6wheeler in to them.

My two oldest kids (13 & 11) both got their first kills yesterday. My son shot his first deer & my daughter shot her first hog. Was an awesome weekend for me, but I'm not going to post the pics because somebody on here will have something bad to say about my son's deer & I just don't want to hear it. I'll keep those photos reserved just for us or friends. Besides, the memories made are worth way more than any photo smile
