Looks like the second half is gonna be as good as the first half. Took the kayak out and was done by 7:30. Lots of pintails and wigeon.

Heck yeah. I'm heading down next weekend to shoot a deer and then on to the coast. That's what I'm looking forward to. My goal is to shoot some ducks for the wall. I'd love a TX coast sprig, redhead, and a plummed out bwt. High expectations huh? I don't know if there are many blue wings on the actual coast, but I will try to get one on my buddies ranch and I have a chance at some mottled ducks there too. It's going to be an expensive year if I meet all my goals, I already have a Canvasback in the freezer.

It didn't start raining in Corpus until noon and so far it's been pretty light. Hope we get more tonight cause we sure need it.
Kdub - You shouldn't have any problem getting a nice sprig and the redhead, but I sure don't see many teal around here (at least where I am hunting). Good luck.

Great looking hunt. Did you hunt out of the kayak? It looks like a sit on top ?

Great looking hunt. Did you hunt out of the kayak? It looks like a sit on top ? It is a sit on top but I just use it to get myself and my decoys to the area I hunt. I sit on the shoreline behind natural cover and walk the kayak down the shoreline and cover it with some camo netting.

I live in San Marcos and have been wanting to make a trip to hunt the coast. I also have a kayak but wasn't sure of all the regulations. Can you hunt any shoreline?
