I have been sending this organization deer for years now and its always cost me around $35 just to donate the deer. Kind of makes me mad that the processor would charge to danate to the hungry when we all know that the write the entire amount off but hey whatever. I was told about a shop in Coleman Texas that takes FREE donation deer and I checked em out and its true. Halls in Coleman will donate your deer to the hungry and not charge you a dime! And if you dont want to gut it just give em $10 and your all done. Good job to the good folks at Halls! up

Sure wish that place was closer. I need to shoot about 5 to 8 doe at the house and I really don't have a place to go with all the meat. I have asked some local churches that will take the meat after it has been processed but I really don't have the money to pay for all the processing.

True.

However I have 2 doe in the freezer now and need about 2-3 more to make it through the year with minimal purchasing of HB from the store. My 3 boys will go for 2 & 3 plate fulls of stuff made with the deer...and might eat 1 plate if it was made with HB!!!

If it's already boned out or made into sausage I can come by and get it, but I just don't have time to mess with a whole deer right now, but thanks anyway! bang

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Dang $35. Last time I checked here in Breckenridge, it was $60.

I used to take the boned out meat and drop it off at the Salvation Army kitchen at the homeless shelter as they always had a lot of help standing around, and full cafeteria facilities, but the last couple years they refuse to take donated meat unless it's packaged and processed preferably ground.

I know it wasn't the workers as they were always happy to see me.

Don't know where you're at but if it is near east Dallas I could take some meat off your hands. I only have two coolers for transport though so I dunno how much it would help. Although if we can meet close enough and it stays this cold I could probably ice down some plastic bags.

PM me if you like.

If it looks good, eat it.

Rocks are cool, also kittens.

hey guys, check out the Dallas Safari Club web-site, look under "events". They sponsor several meat processors around the state for the Hunters for the Hungry. They pick up the $30 tab so you don't have to.

(probably will have to copy and past the link above"

Hope this helps!

I have my own "hunter for the hungry" program. A guy who works at a warehouse where I do business starts asking me for deer in July and will take all I can shoot. Since I carry him deboned meat already iced down, I make it pretty easy for him.
