Thinking about purchasing a new rifle, high on the list is the Tikka T3 Hunter, what are yall's thought on the gun, I want to get one in a 7mag, or .300 win mag.

Good accurate gun, excellent trigger. Could use an aftermarket stock but so do most/all guns in its price range. To be honest, most likely your best option for the money (new guns).

I own a Tikka T3 Varmint in 30-06 (Australia imports different models than Beretta USA does).
One of the most accurate out of the box rifles I have ever seen. Beats Blasers I have paid $3500 for.
Good adjustable trigger, stock sucks, but now that Bell and Carlson and Manners make fiberglass stocks for them mine wears the Manners.

I have the T3 Hunter in 300WSM and I am very happy with it. I don't have any complaints and have shot alot of game with it and never had to track any of them.

I own a Tikka T3 Varmint in 30-06 (Australia imports different models than Beretta USA does). Yep, we only got .223, 22-250 and some .308 Varmints. I wish I could get one in 6.5x55 but since that's not going to happen I had to settle for two (.223 & 22-250). 22-250 still has the Varmint stock which isn't too bad but will get changed soon. .223 is on a Lauronen. I wish I could get another for the 22-250 but that's at least 6 month wait and minimum $800 for a new stock.

They aren't referred to as the "poor man's Sako" for no reason.

I got a t3 in 7mm-08 and love it. I looked at the hunter model but actually liked the stainless synthetic model better after comparing the two.

Yep, those are Sporters. I would ditch the stock anyways so no sense to pay $1700 when I could get a Varmint for $800. My brother is talking to Lauronen about making couple stocks for a T3. I am thinking a hybrid between these two. Butt from the first and action/barrel part from the second.

Boring guns just get one pick up some ammo and shoot little groups
I have some magic beans if anyone is interested. No extra time hunting but they'll make you fart to the tune of Back In Black...

Great guns. Just wish I could find a wood factory replacement for my synthetic stock.

They aren't referred to as the "poor man's Sako" for no reason. I have never heard them called that. They are now made in the same factory, the Sako 85 to me with a synthetic stock is not any better than the T3 is with the same stock. Either rifle in laminate form is amazing, and either rifle with a good replacement fiberglass is exceptional. They have good barrels and triggers, and the integral bases are awesome. I just wish the quality of the mounts was as good as the rest of the gun. I have optilocks on mine but I am eventually going to get a Spurh mount.

Oh the magazines suck! But a quick call to Roedale precision in Germany will give you a piece of metal to repace your bottom metal with that will work with Accuracy International magazines.

I was lucky enough to find a T3 lite SS in 6.5 x 55, love it, but the spare mags are expesive for a piece of plastic.

Had a T3 lite in .270 and regret to the day I sold it.
I'll replace it soon enough.

Just dropped an old cull buck with my Tikka T3 lite SS 270 130 gr. Barnes TTSX and he never took a step. Dropped a fat doe last Saturday with my T3 Hunter 308 and Barnes 150 gr. TTSX, DRT again. I'll never sell these rifles.
