Anyone ever hunted there? Looking at the website and it sounds good. Thoughts?
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

Exotic does, pigs, etc. Something just to get away and have fun without breaking the bank.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

Hos animals are hunted very hard and the ranch never gets a rest. I was there for four days on a white tail/exotic hunt and never saw either out of the stand. I had been there 6 times prior and have never taken an animal there. There are a lot better options out there.
If some animals are good at hunting and others are suitable for hunting, then the Gods must clearly smile on hunting.

I hunted that ranch once when it was under a different name. Never saw hogs. Went out there about 4 times with Keith and saw lots of animals, but only had a few sheep and a donkey come within bow range. The animals know the area well and stay out in the big field well away from the feeders.

I would PM Curtis from your area. If you want a bowhunt only give Ben at three fingers a shout.

I have hunted both Keith Johns Outdoors and Diamond C Ranch. KJO had a disgusting bunk house, and the quality of game was not that great. During my three day trip there, I did not see one of the animals that I paid to shoot (I could either shoot an axis blackbuck sika or fallow and a pig) Like mentioned above, all of the animals on that ranch stay out in that 20 acres field that does not get hunted. KJO is also under 300 acres. The ranch is not inclusive, so don't be surprised to share a room with other guests. I could go on and on about that ranch, but the moral of the story is that I would not recommend hunting there.

I took a nice SCI bronze TX dall out there a few yrs back (think it was '07) - was my first bow kill. Keith is a really nice guy. The bunkhouse was a dump at the time; Keith said the plans to renovate were in the works, but I haven't returned so I cannot comment on that. I never saw anything while on a stand, etc, but some of the other hunters in camp took pigs, does and one even took a small auodad. The ram I took was the result of driving around a lil, finding a herd, driving past the herd a couple hundred yards and then me sneaking up on the herd through the bush with my bow. 30-yd shot - it was a rush. His pricing was very reasonable, but the bunkhouse was rough and I personally never saw anything while on stand. Hope I'm being even-handed here.

That's funny because in 2009 he was telling me that he had plans to build a new bunkhouse soon. Like you, I saw NOTHING on stand. The only time you will get a shot at anything is if he lets you spot and stalk. One of my stands was a ground blind that was 5 yards from the feeder!

his bunks house is still a dump, I took a buffalo there and it was not much of hunt, but he told me to come hunt it for not shooting/seeing my whitetail and exotic when I went there for 5 days. He had just put 60 Aoudad on the place right before i got there and they were every where but all small. Not saying Keith is a bad guy at all, but his place is way over rated!!!!

Went there a couple of year ago and saw animals everytime I hunted. Saw Aoudad, Blackbuck, to many different types of rams to count, hogs, Axis, Buffalo, Fallow, and Sika. Did not see any huge animals, but for the price and him allowing my 8 year to hunt for free was a real bonus. My 8 year old killed a hog and an African Pygmy Goat (Ugly little animals). I killed a Texas Dall on my last hunt because I did not see the quality of BB that I wanted close enough to shoot. If you are looking for 5 Star with a guaranteed trophy then not the right place. If you are looking to get away and relax, see some animals, and have an opportunity to kill something it would be a good fit. Keith and his son Wade (if I remember is name) were great to visit with and payed special attention to my 8 year old. Wade even sat with my son so that i could do a little hunting on my own.
