Cant decide on a rifle length or mid length free float tube for my 16" AR. Anybody have a pic of this set up to help me decide? Do all free float tubes measure the same or do they vary?

I was having a hard time deciding between rifle and mid length, but I decided to go with the middy. I'm glad I did, love the way it looks.

Is that a 16"? Does the mid completely cover up the gas block?

It is a 16, but I have a midlength gas system. I put a YHM flip up front, the tube is CMMG.

I have a mid-length gas system on a WOA 14.5" stainless brl with with perm vortex flashhider. I went with the 11" Troy TRX quad rail. Looks aggressive with only abt 3" of barrel and flashider showing. I will try to get a pic up later.

Here is a rifle llength on a 16" barrel
http://tacticalgunreview.com/2011/11/10/wilson-combat-5-56-recon-16-review/

I find that the further my left hand is the better I can drive the rifle shooting fast like in 3 gun

This rifle feels very balanced
My other 16" AR has midlength that just covers the midlength gas block

I like it to but it is a 68 for hunting and I am not putting a lot of rounds through it fast like the 556

Both work and look good, pick your poison

Carbine length system is 7", Mid is 9", and Rifle length is 12".
The tube should completely cover the gas block.

Im not a fan of rifle length handguards on carbines. They just look unbalanced to me and i dont need that much rail space. Heres one of mine with midlegth rail covering gas block
