I have a high rack that I am going to modify to fit my truck. Just curious how some of you guys have yours bolted or fixed to your truck. I know some people use ratchet straps and was curious about how that has worked as well.

thanks

The ones I have been on were anchored with heavy ratchet straps and were solid. Two shooters and a spotter on top. We also did spotlight surveys on the ranch and had four up top.

I use normal 1" ratchet straps. Never had any problems.

When I had pickup racks we always used 1" straps and it worked fine. Plus if you catch a low branch it's the week point that breaks and doesn't bend you bed up. All the guys I know who have bolted them in ended up with flat beds smile

We use the 1" straps to hold ours in. The only thing we have ever had go wrong was the strap wearing out after about 6 weeks. When it got put on the first time it was run over a thin edge that had some burrs. Just make sure you don't run over any of that kind of stuff and you should be fine.

Go with ratchet straps. You wouldn't want to accidentally hit a limb or an entryway and have it bolted down.
