I have an A2 Birdcage. We shot mine & a friends side-by-side & mine was seriously about 1/2 as loud as her Armalite. IDK what was on hers so maybe it was 1 that was, for some reason, meant to make it louder but I was really impressed. Here's Db tests for ya!

I use PWS when I'm not suppressed. It traps gas and reduces recoil due to its hollow chamber. There is no increase in perceived sound.

I have a AAC Blackout on my AR, but you can't go wrong with a Vortex, and you really cannot go wrong with a Battlecomp.

I'll second the Battlecomp. Quick follow-up shots are almost easy when you have that on your gun.
