We got a new bloodhound puppy off of the forum on Sunday. He is a great little puppy but our other two dogs (a 3 yr old bloodhound/catahoula & 5 yr old yorkie) aren't interested in him at all. They almost go out of their way to ignore him and run from him, which is very unusual with both of them. I am just wondering if this is normal behavior with bringing a new dog home & if there is anything I can do to help with the situation.

what you describe is not unusual at all... your dogs will eventually accept the pup into the pack, but it'll take a little time for them to get used to him and get him set in the "pack". most dogs are territorial also and you just put some new guy on their turf. Pups are all revved up and want to play with everything and everybody and the older dogs will just have to warm to him and probably "show" him what he can get away with and what he can't.
don't worry too much about it... the Yorkie will probably be the boss anyway!
cute pup BTW!

Thanks FirstChance, that makes me feel better. She sure does try to be. Its funny how a 7lb yorkie can make an 85lb dog run like a baby.

From the picture of him in that bed I dont think he is too worried about the other dogs!

It's a shame they have to grow up, that is one nice lookin pup!
Maybe a little jealousy and hurt feelins goin on. Give them all a bunch of lovin, they will get along soon.....it may take Yorkie a while, the little bity ones usually rule the roost.
