Got back from the lease sunday. Didnt see much movement with all the wind, so not sure how the rut is coming along? Had three mature bucks on game cam for the last two months and now they are gone. I dont know what happend but im not liking it.

I dont know what happend but im not liking it. What most hunters are experiencing now in regards to little to no mature buck sightings is two fold. First, the rains that the area experienced over the last few weeks has created other food sources for the deer. Thus, less travel for them from their bedding areas. Secondly, the rut from my experience is almost over in that area. Last weekend, 1 out of 10 mature bucks that I saw were with a doe. I would try to hunt as close to a known bedding area or travel pattern as I could. Keep in mind the wind direction when doing this. Depending on the number of does on your land, you could experience a second wave of rutting activity in December when the unbred does come back into heat.

I saw two of the biggest bucks I have ever seen driving down hwy222 two days ago. (BOTH WERE OVER THE 140S CLASS).. Drove back through yesterday between 3-4pm and saw deer on every field they should have been seen in.. I expect your hunt to be good

Just got back from the lease, And i think i figured out my problem with deer bein nocternal. The deer aren't stayin on my lease. I think they are gone before daylight headed back towards the bedding area and dont make it to us before dark. Not much luck this weekend we got one hog. Some of my bucks started showing back up on the game cams. Thats good. At least i get to look at pics of them.
