I'm new to the THF and live in Upshur County.
It looks like I may have an opportunity to get on a lease in Frankln County near Mount Pleasant. I wondered what the deer population is like there.
It's 1,200 acres and only has a few members so the hunting pressure shouldn't be that bad. I think one of the property boundaries is on the Sulphur river.
What is more successful in this part of Texas corn feeders or food plots?
For food plots what is the best things to plant?
Thanks for the information. I called the TP&W biologist for this area but he hasn't returned my call. It's there busy season.

If you try a food plot on any property that touches that river, the hogs will tear it up. Deer population is ok, but you'll hate the DOE restrictions unles you are on a LAMPS or MLD property.
