anyone ever use mill finish glass windows sold at home depot/lowes? a friend of mine put them in a backyard shed he just built and they look like theyd be perfect for a deer blind too. the smallest size ive seen is 2'x2' with one half of it sliding open. the fixed half could be painted from the inside to keep the opening small and keep the interior of the blind dark.
thanks

I've seen them in some nice blinds, You can even get smaller ones like 2'x1' like used in a bathroom. Ones I was in , they where set so they slid down, was a little awkward, but up or down would be better than sideways to me. might as well get it completely out of the way.
I think the bottom line tends to be the price for most guy's

Ill answer that since I have some of the Deerview windows. They seal good enough to keep bugs and weather out. Yesterday the wind was blowing like crazy and I didn't even have a draft in my blind. Worth every penny and the fact you can remove them is great. I have the slider windows by the way.

I built my own with a couple of sticks of UHMW, a table saw, and a roll of weather stripping.

I have the Deerview windows on my blind that I can flip up from inside with their camo netting over opening. No problem with flip down windows sealing tight to keep out rain/bugs/etc. When I was in planning stage of building the blind, I visited Home Depot and did not like their windows. Folks at Deerview are good to work with and on my next blind, will use their windows and camo netting.

I am sort of cheap, and this probably took more work than just buying something, but this is how I did it, I don't have any pictures but they have been operational for a couple of years with no problems.
I got a piece of the lexan/plexiglass whatever from lowe's then I cut my window 1" smaller both L & W so you get 1/2" overlap on each side, I cut the hole with a router so that I knew I had a smooth clean cut.
Then I set the depth of the router to cut 17/32" and set the fence to cut about a 32nd wider than the plexiglass. I then cut a piece of 1/2 furring strip to length across the front of the blind. Then ran that piece through the router to get the appropriate "groove". Then I did the same for the 2x4 that I used for the window ledge/shelf. I sanded everything a little so that there were no rough spots for the window to hang up on.
The windows only slide one way and I put mine together then take apart for transport then reassemble, only one window had to stay, the other two slid in before final assembly.
There is a little bit of play but not much and they are very quiet to open.
