On game camera this deer looks like it has a 20 + inch spread. Had only a couple of seconds to make a decision, so I took it.
Nice deer not what I thought. My son kicked my back side with a big 10. See posting of my sons first buck Wyatt!

That's still a nice deer! Just out of curiosity, what was the inside spread?

My brother had the same senario.. Looks like a beast on cam.. Then he saw him barely in the fog .. He recognized his g2's and shot .. When he walked up on him was only like 16 in wide ...
But on the other hand I shot a 20 in wide 8 point today and had to show hi
Look no ground shrinkage !!!!

I love hunting ! Got to love it !

Beautiful buck Dave. Not as bad as you described. You've put in your time ...It's OK to shoot itty-bitty deer every once in a while! peep

I did the same thing 6 years ago. Hunted a buck really hard, passing on some real good ones, then finally seeing mine as he popped out of some brush going after a doe. I knew immediately that he was the buck I was chasing and I just popped him.

Regardless, mine was still a good deer, just not what I expected. I think it happens to all of us if we watch our game cams too much.

Game cameras normally make them appear larger than they are up
