This isn't a classified ad. One of my contacts in China is developing a boar target equal in size to a 90 pound boar. He's asked my opinion based on the following image, if you guys think it would sell. Its a hair over 3 feet long and a hair over 20 inches high. I know the first question will be if its broadhead capable, I've put that question to him and am waiting for a response. I've also asked him if enough guys are interested/like it, can we get a few of them shipped over at cost, as like a thank you for our opinion, and he said sure. Here's a pic with the specs from his sales flyer. You guys think this would sell?

I have one that I use sometimes, I just hate 3D targets because I'm getting older and it's hard to pull the arrows out with my compound. I use it only with my longbow.
I can tell you it's all about price; get the price where the normal working man can afford it and it will sell. Shipping from China is going to be expensive and slow.

That's plenty big. What kind of target circles will it have? Will it be set up for 3D tournament scoring?

I'll fling a bunch of arrows at one and report back on how it holds up.

I've asked him for more information, particularly whats the difference between the hunter and elite models, whether or not it can handle a broadhead, etc. I'll ask him if there's any target circles and 3D scoring as well.
He sells other items as well, including a damn near indestructible carbon fiber case, and some carbon arrows, but I haven't tried the arrows and the case is a bit out of my price range (even though its worth the asking price). He loves archery, and actually he's pretty much "the guy" in China whose been importing US made bows and setting up archery as a sport there, so he's not some fly by night outfit looking to make a quick buck. But we can be the judge of how good this target is.
I'll post as soon as I get more info.

I found what's included in a competition 3d target. I'll check. If those targets circles are part of it this would be a steal. The closest priced 3D target boar I could find was almost $400.

Coming back I have a few answers. It doesn't have the target circles, but I'm suggesting the pro model he's going to offer have them. He's considering it, and I think he may do that.
The material is pretty dense, I'll ask him what foot pounds it can handle.
As far as wear, it can handle 400 to 500 shots before it looks used. They're shooting them up at his ranges in China with American made hunting bows and they're holding up pretty well.
I spoke to him over the weekend, and he's going to ship up a few for us to buy. You guys be interested in buying one at $180? I'm guessing that would be the cost of the target plus the shipping cost to DFW.

Here's some answers I got back from him:
> > 1 – Not too familiar with FPE. At 10m a 70# bow will knock over our target half the time. The arrow sticks out the back side about 4 inches under these conditions (30” arrow 27cm thick target). I think that would translate to around 330fps roughly 90fpe. It seems like this would put it close, but at close distance it is also possible the arrow might shoot through. It is likely it would knock it over, but as with many standing targets you need to add an anchoring system. We have considered adding an anchoring system but we will wait until March when we finish our next run to make these available as on option. > > 2 – We have considered target circles drawn on. What would be more popular, stencils for scoring or drawing on the targets ourselves? > > 3 – Our boars are 1 piece targets. Future larger targets such as the lion will be multiple piece. For the price we are selling it replacing our target costs the same as others replacement mid-sections. > > I signed up a UK distributor yesterday and I have an Australian distributor already. Since these targets are made in the US, non-US buyers are overjoyed about our price points.
Anyone interested in buying one from him? I'll have him ship a bunch here to my place, and I'll meetup anyone in DFW who wants one. Price I posted is a worst case estimate, not sure how much shipping will be yet.

Well since all Mossy Oak garments, every hunting boot I've seen, and every pair of socks we wear are from Asia or India, I've given up that fight for a while now.
If it makes a difference to anyone, the guy whose making them is an American, and he imports his bows from the US to China. He just lives there now because he's making money bringing Archery to the masses there.
If anyone still wants one PM me and I'll put together a list.

Maybe I missed this in the earlier posts but - First, why is the target being knocked over? Put some metal pegs in the hooves so it can be afixed into the ground. Second, what is the cost of the replacement inserts? Sounds interesting if those issues are addressed.
