Actually it would be 9 pts...

10 for a band

-1 for a hen

=

9 pts!

Passed on alot of hens this year, sure makes ya wonder ??
We always try to look at them as close as we can.
Shot a banded drake yesterday. 1st one of the year out of over 100 ducks from that spot this year.

2 bands = 20 points so would it be 19?

So all I need to do is shoot 25 double banded birds and I might have a shot at winning the tournament.

Well the rules say 10 pts for a "banded bird", not 10 pts per band, but your scoring logic is sound!!! We may need a rule change!!

Congrats Duckkiller, that is cool!

But why do they do the reward bands? Wasn't that for a test to see if more folks called in the band? I think is is silly for them to do that, who would not call it in? I would think maybe a higher % of folks would call in a double band, not for the $100, but just because 2 bands are easier to see than 1, I think bands do not get called in because folks just don't see them, I really do not know for fact tho, just my duck band theory.

I think just about everyone that hunts ducks will look for a band. I would think of those that do get bands many people will intend to call them in but for whatever reason they never do.

Thanks guys. I was pumped. It was total luck. If that bird would have come in 5 minutes later I would not have even shot it. I was unsure at the time what the bird situation was going to be like since this was the first time to hunt that area this year. A pair droped in a couple of minutes after daylight and I couldn't tell which one was the drake. So I shot them both. For the rest of the hunt I had mallards pouring in on me. If I would have known there would be that many mallards in there I would have been picking out greenheads for sure.

It only took me about 10 minutes to limit out. After I shot my last greenhead I was kind of frustrated that I had shot the hen..... until I went to pick her up.

I went to the same area the next morning and let me tell you, It sure was difficult to pass on the hens.
