I am looking to find people around the Austin Area to duck hunt with. I live in the Oak Hill area of South West Austin and have a 15 foot duck hunting boat with duck blind, all the decoys and mojos needed, etc... I either boat in or walk in depending on the place. I have plenty of friends to duck hunt with, but they either live in Houston or North of Austin. I am looking to start hunting the Colorado River and taking more trips to the coast, problem is, all of my friends are married with kids and can't go most of the time. I am no newbie to duck hunting, just looking for people that want to go around the Austin area. I also hunt Granger too just to keep me sane when I can't make it to the coast to hunt. I am 30 years old, so I would rather hunt with people around the same age. PM me if interested. Was supposed to head to the coast this weekend, but it fell through, so I will be hunting starting tomorrow through Sunday. Thanks in advance.

welcome drdan

There are a few of us in the Austin area.

I guess I need to rethink the Colorado. You're the 2nd person I've seen posting up about it.

I went with another forum member and I wasn't overly impressed. We launched the boat and traveled downstream. We probably spent 70% of the time out of the boat, as the water was low and required us to drag the boat. That got old quick.

We did travel up river from where we launched and was much better, but I've not been back there in so long, not sure where we put in. It was south of the city.
