This is my seven year old's first hunt. He dropped this nine point with his 223 from 60 yds. I couldn't be more proud. Jack County is looking pretty good this year. No acorn crop means loads of deer coming to the feeders.

Great story, and great buck. Way to go little man!

I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

To answer Dap{iaff 3627) question: The Nine point was 13.5 inside. He made me a little nervous. That deer never looked at us straight on, but I knew he was mature. We walked up on him and I nearly passed out, thinking "he's not legal." The Eight point was 16" inside with 11" G2. He wasn't the biggest deer, but I love a symmetrical Eight Point rack. He was Beautiful and I had to belly crawl through 40yds of briars and under a barbed wire fence to make a shot on him.

looks like a couple of shoulder mounts in the near future. Great deer and a job well done.

A virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his actions, they are dictated by his conscience, rather than by onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact."
