scouting local lakes around Dallas I see some areas on the TPWD marked as public but arriving to the spot it's posted? Also I see trucks parked on dry out bottoms of some lakes. Is this OK, or just ignored by game wardens?

Each public hunting area has it's own individual, often unique rules. Some have limited days/times they can be hunted. Some only have portions of their overall area open for hunting. It usually takes more research than just showing up to find out what, where, and when you can or can't hunt on any public area.

The easiest way to grasp what John said is this.
There really is no "public property" in Texas. Very little if any.
Lakes are owned and managed through different departments, cities, on and on and on.
Each one has its own said of rules and regulations. So find out who owns manages etc the property your interested in and find out what it takes to use that property.

No one that I can see is enforcing not driving on the lake shores. People doing it Every Day and getting to the spots where the rest of us law abiding citizens are walking into. The only thing we could do this morning was try and find a secondary spot that involved walking into sinking mud, while the folks that decided to drive down the lake shore ended up lighting them up. Talk about frustrating.

If it is effecting your hunting, call the game warden, And/or if a corps of engineers lake call that lake's corps office. Either report them or if you find the game warden, corps ranger, or that lake's controlling authority is allowing it, get and document permission to do it too.

If it wasn't raining so much right now, I'd be driving tomorrow. It's easier to carry more decoys that way.

^^^^^^^ You frecking goofball! After today's stunt I didn't expect anything out of you about driving on dirt. Turtle boy!!
Jager is like liquid xanax. Wake up looking like you fell in a tiger exhibit and crawled through a leech filled swamp to get out.
