I've been meaning to post this for the past few weeks..... Anyway, here's her first, of many hopefully. I don't know who was more excited her or I (probably 50/50). We had been sitting on a bunch of does all day, then this little guy stepped out. She was so excited when she said "Daddy, Daddy it's a buck, can I shoot him"... I had to grit my teath, we manage our lease pretty hard, and don't kill young bucks like this. But, I didn't have the heart to tell her no. So, boom. DRT 120 yards w/ the old .308 - 8 years old. Proud of her to say the least!

That's priceless! Can't wait for this as my daughter will be 8 in January so we will spend alot of time practicing next year and be ready for next youth weekend (if she wants)!

Great first deer young lady...Dad,sometimes rules need not apply.Is that a Woodsmaster?I had one in 30.06,kicked like a mule...Hope hers is 270.

Earthkid, yes it's a 7400 in a .308, the kick doesn't seem to bother her at all. I'm not a big fan of .308's but I had it when I was a kid, it's got a youth stock. She's good for about 10 rounds @ the shooting range. When she killed that buck she said "Daddy, you were right, when you shoot a deer you can't even feel the gun kick"......
