I picked up a Spike's Stripped Lower today. Gonna start getting everything together to build a 6.8SPC setup.
So, my questions are: Is it best to buy all the lower parts separately? Buy as a kit? If buy as a kit, which one is a good one to go with? Just don't want to end up with a lot of extra stuff.
I've pretty much got the stock/buffer tube/buffer/buffer spring parts decided on. Just wasn't sure about all the other items.
Appreciate any help with this.

Buy as a kit. I prefer Stag/CMT kits, but any of the better known brands will be good to go. If you want a after market trigger and grip you have to get those seperately.
I think Spikes sell a parts kit as well.

Get you a spikes lower parts kit (LPK). It includes everything you need besides the buttstock assembly. I think I have a few left if you need one.

I've always used DD or G&R LPKs, but most should do the trick. Plus it never hurts to have extra parts; I actually went down to the local Nut and Bolt shop and got about 20 of each rollpin for the lowers, and gas tube.

Palmetto has a good LPK. Also, if you are going to be using an aftermaarket trigger group they sell a LPK without the trigger for a bit less. I think they actually sell some LPK with Gisselle triggers too, if you wanted to go that route.

you may end up replacing the fire control group in the event you want an improved trigger
