I have tried it both ways, up high like 3 or 4 foot above the water, or right on the water. I think I like it on the water because it simulates this...

What do you guys think?

I dido casey77,The ones one the water do give a more realistic look to the spread on the water but the ones up high is the one the groups are going to fall into formation with as it portrays the lead duck hitting the spread.

I only have one and use it before the split. During the first week of the season I was setting it close to the water and I was shocked to see so many flare from it.

This week (when the dux are theoretically "a week of getting shot at" smarter) I used the longer pole to get it 3' off the water and it has been working a lot better.

Not sure why, won't speculate what dux think, just a concrete observation...

To me the main advantage of a mojo is to catch the ducks attention from a long ways away. So that would tell me that you need to go high. But we all know that mojos can sometimes flair ducks so that would tell me to go low. Inconceivable!

ha

That's why I think the remote control would be a nice feature to have.
