I've got to mention the Hard Eight in Stephenville. I hear they opened one in Coppell near DFW. I ate at Coopers last Sunday coming back from Rocksprings and it was gross. All the sausage was dry and Briskets were mostly fat. I was very disappointed

Maggie, Pappa Paynes is now closed!! Big O's is great. BTW, we will be moving into another building to gain added room for Sara's Neighborhood. We're going in with Tracey's on Commercial, first block off the square. We'll be in by the first of the month. We'll have more parking and a side lot with a gazebo and outside cooking in the fair months.

they are closed cause they are moving to the Salt & Pepper Bar next to the car dealership north of town...we will DEFENATELY come check out the new place, good deal

Mustang BBQ off Highway 59 near Louise,Texas.This folks,is the best real pit BBQ.The owner serves up quite a spread.He has brisket,chicken,pork ribs and sausage buffet style with sides and tea all you can eat for $7.50.I don't think you will find a better deal or BBQ anywhere.You owe it to youself to give it a try if you are ever passing through.You will be glad you did.

best ever is were i live in everman tx,a place called hickory stick,best ribs and sliced brisket i have ever tasted.great prices also its on enon st off of forrest hill dr.

They are not that good. They opened up another store in Converse, Texas and it did not make it.....Grady's BBQ is not much better and they are opened up in that same spot now!

Damn yall just had to bring up chops...I will drive to Lockhart just to get a end cut chop from Kruez`..two japs, a chunk of cheese, and some crackers...oh year dont forget the dry ring...

Add me to the Coopers in Mason list. That may just be sentimentality talking, though. Good stuff. Coopers in Llano is ok in my book but more for the tourists. Coopers in Mason (different owners from my understanding) is where it's at. Don't get down there nearly enough.
