How many of you guys buy guns that you dont really need? Who here only buys a gun that you will have a specific use for? I have a thing for bolt rifles and always want another one. I hunt whitetail the most and really could be fine with only one rifle but for some reason i have a thing for bolt rifles and am always eyeing a new one. Does anyone else do this?

I have the same problem, at least according to my wife.

I'm the same way. I own several that I've never shot but just had to have. Guns are the only thing I do this with though.

OMG - Now why would someone do that? I really didn't need the guns, I was just looking for an excuse to buy a safe!

All at the bottom of the lake in a boating accident? Nope, buried in the backyard. Crap meant to say that in my head. Ha

Earlier this year I bought a Winchester Model 70 Coyote, stainless/laminate in 25 WSSM, then had the barrel fluted. I have absolutely no idea what I will do with it, it's heavy as an anchor. But it looks oh so nice!!!

I have a distinct unique need for every gun in my safe. At least thats what I tell the wifey.

I have a few that were passed down from my elders, and some that I have bought cause I needed them for one thing or the other, but I do find that when I hunt or just go plinking I have 2-4 that always seem to be top pics for me... hell I just like firearms in general and if I can afford it I will continue to add to my bottom of the lake collection

After the wife became an ex, yt gun buying habit picked a little steam. I make the ocassional gun purchase as a few other THF members can attest to. The classified section can be damaging to my checking account

Lets change up the post then. Im looking at 3 guns right now. A winchester model 70 extreme weather, the kimber 84L montana or possibly a sako 85 finnish. I am really liking the kimber but have read too many bad reviews. What do you guys think?

I know that Hill Country Rifles in San Marcos customizes rifles. They won't accept a Kimber as they say they can't make them shoot well. I can't say first as I've never owned one. But that's enough for me. Check out a Cooper for about the same price.

But that's enough for me. Check out a Cooper for about the same price. I planned on only one gun purchase this year and that was a Cooper. Bought it and love the gun. That said 5 others have found a new home, so much for just buying one. Like Lays potato chips, cannot stop at just one

I'm Addicted to Colt 1911's!! Rock Island Auctions is my weakness. Seems like every time they have an Auction they send me a Catalog.. Damn Them! There having another on December,2nd 3rd and 4th 2011 They have some really nice 1911s there. Didn't they have a Singer a while back? I'd love to see pictures of the 1911s you've got from them. War era 1911s are my favorites. I have a Remington Rand but one day I want to add a US&S, an Ithica, and a Colt WWII. I'm not even going to pretend I'll ever have a Singer.
