I bought a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog several years ago for the purpose of tracking my bow-kills. He was a natural, I walked him by a cape w/head when he was probably 3 months old, he immediately growled/barked and attacked the neck. I would pull the 8-point head out of the freezer a few times a week and hang it on the swing-set and let him attack and dodge, every now and then I would drag and he would find, he was a natural. He found several of mine and my buddies deer.

Cowboy passed on a few years ago, and I've tried another catahoula, and a catahoula/lab mix, neither seemed interested. Any input on how to start and train a dog on blood-trailing that dont seem to be a natural? good breeds?
