This year I’m hoping to get a nice buck to mount. I was just wondering what everyone else is doing with their mounts? Thanks guys also tell me why you chose your choice

If I could afford it and have room on a wall, shoulder mpunts are a work of art. I think it really looks sharp when 3 or more can be grouped together.

For whitetail I just get euros, unless its something really special. But I hunt exotics and alot of birds, so I tend to lean towards shoulder/full body mounts with those. Just dont wanna be cluttered with a bunch of big shoulder mounts for my average whitetails.

I dont have anything shoulder mounted yet, just because I dont want a house full of them, 1 or 2 will be plenty, and I just havent run accross the right special deer yet, when I do he will get shoulder mounted.
I do alot of european mounts myself for family and friends and myself because I think they look better than sawed off horns.

The reason I’m asking my first good whitetail I killed 3 years ago and the taxi I took him to get a shoulder mount, a rug made, a woody mounted and 2 plaques made that year I deployed shortly after and now he has disappeared and I don’t have anything I paid for almost $800 worth of work and now I really want a shoulder mount because I still don’t have back my first good one...

I shoulder mount if it's bigger than my existing shoulder mount in that species... If not it's a euro. Just don't have enough space for that many full shoulder or pedistal mounts.

Who was the taxidermist? I see your in my area, if he was local, I could possibly know him?
As for the question. I think a good shoulder mount is a beautiful thing. My dad has three on his wall, and I just took my ffirst one in to the taxi for a wall pedestal mount. Its my first buckand is a nice 11pt. If I were to get a small avg buck next year, Ill just euro it. I can boil it and bleach it myself, so that wont cost anything but time. My 10yo daughter got her first doe this year and she wanted the tail to put on the wall, we sent the hide to be tanned because she wants to make something out of it, we are making a gun rack with the feet, and she begged me to have the doe head mounted but I just couldnt do that one, lol.

Shoulder mount for a real trophy. Euro for any other buck over 8. Under 8 I might euro it too, throw it in the backyard or garage
