I know this is the THF, but considering there isn't a LHF I was hoping someone would have some helpful input. I am supposed to be making a trip to Lake Charles with some friends to hunt next weekend and was wondering how the shooting has been so far. I know it's been warm down there, but was hoping to hear some good news about the duck activity before I make the 12 hour trip.

I live in Lake Charles and have hunted everyday since the season opened on Saturday and have shot 4 limits everday. We are shooting alot of greenwing and grey ducks. Where in Lake Charles are you going? Since we are low on water it makes a huge difference on where you are going.

Got an email from Hackberry Rod and Gun and they are smacking the ducks pretty well. If I remember correctly, they are averaging 14 ducks per blind.

Going with a friend and his stepdad. I made the drive twice last year and really enjoyed it. I got to shoot my first greenhead last Thanksgiving! The lease is on one of the lakes south of Lake Charles but I can't remember which one. It is in the marsh, and that was a type of hunting I hadn't experienced before.
