...with the moon out all night and the wind blowing like crazy, the deer would be out. On a whim I decided to hike over to the blind anyway. 2 bucks and several doe milling around. 0825 AM - 8pt with 17.5" spread! Guessing about 4 - 4.5yrs old. Looks like he's been in a couple of battles. The Marlin 45-70 I bought for grins last winter works just fine. 405gr Rem factory dropped the anchor on him real fast at about 110yds. Quartering to me, hit left front high shoulder and exited in front of the right hind quarter.  I've got pics but having trouble with photobucket! BTW - Game Warden dropped by too! First thing he did was look for tag on the deer - next thing was "back" of license! Surprise - I had it all filled out! Very friendly, very professional.

I skipped today thinking the elements just weren't right for much movement. Starting to think I'll change my mind for tomorrow and drive out for at least a morning hunt.
