Reports from my lease were that deer activity had slowed considerably. I had to work this weekend so I didn't miss much.
With that said, I decided against going to the lease and hunting today and tomorrow. I've decided to wait for this moon phase to end and the weather to cool off some before returning.

Yep, pretty much, I should've learned by now high temps and windy + full moon = diddly squat. Wife saw 2 bucks Sat morning and a few coyote's, she shot 2 pigs Sat night nothing else all weekend. I walked into the 3 best areas on the place and saw 3 yote's all weekend nothing else, fish didn't bite either.

I spent 12.5 hours straight in the blind Saturday and saw one squirrel and one armadillo. Nothing else moved all day. It's amazing how comfortable that big nice office chair can be when you sit down in it before dawn and how much it feels like a granite bed of nails when you get out of it after dark. Maybe next weekend will be better. Thanks!!! Matt
The psycho nut bags have always been there. They just get better press now. Take away their guns, they'll use knives. Take away their knives and they'll use sticks!!

I spent all in Foard County and saw jack squat and 1 big skunk. My buddy saw a small spike. We did pop 4 pigs but that was all. The full moon combined with the wind was a hunt stopper.

Was in San Saba all weekend. We took 3 does, a spike, and a 4.5 year old 8 point. Numerous other opportunities and deer watched...
Can't sit in a blind with weather and moon like that. We walked almost all weekend...

My lease in Walker County was slow, slow, slow. Saw a bunch of does Friday morning when it was nice and chilly but Saturday and Sunday were awful. Forecast sucks too.
So far only the small bucks appear to even be thinking about rutting and this late-Spring-like weather isn't helping a thing.

In Cherokee County, I saw a small buck Saturday morning and nothing else all weekend. Winds were bad, moon was full, and it was hot. Even had to break out the thermacell to fight off the skeeters.

Nothing like witnessing your kids have the buck fever!!! Awesome!!
What you really need is a 300 Winchester Magnum. That is the best caliber on the planet, probably even in the solar system and maybe the universe. Go get him! Shoot him in the face!

Same here up in Kent county. I think it had mostly to do with the full moon.

I saw a very large mature buck Saturday afternoon at 4:42. Of course I had already shot my one buck for the season.

I had the same situation in Trinity County. Full moon, windy, and warm. Me, wife and son in law went and we saw absolutely nothing. Just a couple of Does early am crossing the road as we were going in to our hunting area but, nothing while in the stands. I am going to wait for cooler weather and different moon phase before I go back.

Saw deer at every sitting last weekend, but not the activity I am used to in my area. Movement was way down.
