We had lots of pictures of this deer last year but nobody ever saw him in person...

Fast forward one year.... the neighbor across the fence got him this morning. Had 13 points and was 6 1/2 years old.

Just goes to show you that you don't have to have large acreage to kill big bucks. He hunts on 40 acres that borders our 1000. We have been MLD on this property since 2004.

Great buck! I love those brow tines. He really grew a lot this year, despite the drought. I read somewhere that older deer aren't using so much of their nutrition for body growth like in their first three years, so the growth goes to their antlers. Looks like that is true in this case! Thanks for posting.

Thanks, I would have loved to have gotten a shot at him for sure. The neighbor that killed him only hunts a few days a season and has killed several great bucks that we have pictures of. He told us "y'all keep growing them and I'll keep shooting them". Lol.

I bet theres a pretty good chance it is. Look at the brows. They are the same in the game camera pic as in the bed of the truck pic. That, are you guys have some nice genetics walking around.

Wow heck of an attitude. I applaud you. On paper it might be a small track, but if it borders a well managed low fence property then he might as well consider himself hunting 1040 acres, but he only gets this 40 to put a stand on.
