I have been playing cat and mouse with this buck for the last 2 years and it finally all came together on Saturday at around 8 a.m. It was worth the wait! The weekend started off great as I was able to leave school to come home and got to start hunting Thursday afternoon. I saw a pretty nice young 8 and watched him chase a doe and breed for about 30 minutes! Friday morning was great too as I saw 3 different non legal bucks all chasing does. Friday evening I was shutout, but I didn't get discouraged as I knew how much rutting activity was going on. Saturday morning started out good as I had 3 does under my feeder when it got light enought to see. They fed for about 30 minutes then left. About 8 oclock I looked up into the pines and saw a doe walking. A second later I see a huge bodied deer walking behind her. Before even throwing my gun up I knew this had to be the deer I was after. As I got my scope on the deer I saw that it was him. About that time the doe started trotting off, and I knew I had to stop and shoot this buck now before he started chasing her. He got in between 2 pines, I grunted, he stopped, and bam! He jumped up on his hind legs and took off dragging his front leg. I gave him plenty of time to expire and found him about 100yds from the shot. I couldn't believe how big he was in person. He looked like a horse and his neck was swollen up! This is by far my biggest buck to see in the wild, and I'm still on cloud 9! Sorry for the long read, but I have a lot of history with this buck and it was awesome to see it all come together. We think he was at least 5.5 yrs old. He's 18.5in wide and has 8in g2's.

Their the Chippewa snake boots. They are really comfortable and I like 'em a lot.
