We had a guy report that bucks were chasing does as well. I just saw a young 4 late Sat. that wasn't chasing anything. Sunday morning at 4 does without any chasers. Upset I can't be there this weekend.

Kinda funny...I have an app on my phone called txdeerhunt. Was reading about Mills County, and the app said full rut should start Nov.6th. I hunted Saturday, the 5th and saw some non-shooter bucks with doe, but not chasing them.
Didn't get to hunt Sunday, the 6th, but my buddy did. He said he saw 3 pretty good bucks, noses down, mouths open and chasing doe hard. Pretty good prediction, I say.
We're south of Goldtwaite, off of county road 411.

Hey sprigspanker...the big hill on the south side of 575 just past 217 behind the high fence?? Look out mountain. That's the place we're on. Cemetery is on the east side of the place. Son took a nice 8 pt. with his bow during youth weekend. We're seeing a mix of some bucks chasing and others still running in groups. Turkeys are out moving around...except for 1!!

I just got back from two days out there. I passed on a relatively big 9pt this evening. It was about 5:45PM (darn near sundown) and this big boy walked out, at least I thought he was big. He was right at *just* past the ears, but TALL. The body was smaller than I would have hoped, but man I'm kicking myself for not shooting him all the way home. I had the chance to drop him with my 260 Rem or my backup 357. Oh well. Next time. Stupid ARs making you REALLY think before pulling the trigger. Scopes need a FFP reticle that shows 13inches
