Well, what do you do after getting your big buck? I can still get a spike, and only have the 4 days after thanksgiving to get a doe. So, what drives you to get out there after getting your buck?
Do most of yall continue hunting after getting your buck or are you mostly done for the season? I'll be going out with my camera but havent been back out after taking my buck yet. If you continue hunting, is it mainly just to watch, try hard to put a spike in the freezer, or what?

take kiddos and wife for spike or does.
A virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his actions, they are dictated by his conscience, rather than by onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact."

I start planning other options for shooting another one. I've got 2 bucks down (one out of state) and would really like to go for 4-5 total without a spike being part of that total.

I goto a different county and hunt. You can shoot another Buck Other than that, I shoot spikes and does. I refuse to hunt east Texas because of the stupid doe rule. Thanksgiving to Sunday. They should make it one doe all seasons combined without that four day rule. Other than that I go duck hunting or turkey hunting

Myself, I am going to try and rattle up some bucks to take pictures of. If I have luck rattling then I have just added a new method for future hunts. I have always been reluctant to do this for fear I would actually scare something off. Now, that is not a worry.

I got mine opening day this year but I have still been hitting it. Staying after the hogs and varmints. If a nice buck steps out like this morning I just enjoy watching them and trying to take pics through my scope.

For years I shot a buck and never went back to the woods until next season. Now I hunt nearly every single weekend and watch/video the deer, see what bucks are on the place, and shoot a doe or two Thanksgiving weekend. This helps me plan for next season. None of the three big bucks that I have shot over the past 6 years ever came to my deer feeder or near the trail camera either before, during, or after deer season. It was only by observation and shooting videos that I was able to see these deer. Each hunt is a learning experience.

Use that camera and spare time to scout for next season. Be mobile and scout new areas on the ranch you hunt on. Might find a new and better spot to hunt for next year.

Get out every chance you can. Take pictures, kill pigs, take a young kid hunting and let them take a cull, bring the wife and kids which we do every weekend we can (have work this weekend which stinks), pattern the deer, enjoy the sunrise, etc. HUNT.
