I saw a WT deer subspecies territory mape once, but could not find it again to confirm. I'm thinking that northern panhandle WT deer are part of the Kansas whitetail sub-species,Odocoileus virginianus macrourus. is that kansas or iowa? looks like a bruser. crongrats and your little girl looks happier than you.

11 point buck I shot opening morning. It was also the first time my 9 year old daughter came along on a deer hunt. I'm glad she's starting to get interested in hunting with Daddy. This one's special, he'll be going on the wall. [img:left]  [/img] Now that pic is priceless!! Congrats!!!!

Thanks everyone. Yes it is a North Texas Panhandle buck. But I don't have a scale so not sure what he weighed.

Nice panhandle buck for sure but the smile on your little girls face is even better. Doesn't get any better than hunting with the younguns. My 10 year old grandson killed his first deer when he was 6 and he's ate up with the hunting bug. Spending time with him in the stand makes all of the work and money worth it.
