I saw a poll for this while looking at an article on Feild and Stream today and it got me thinking about it.

On opening Saturday afternoon, I was getting a bit discouraged as it was getting later and later. I pull out my phone and start playing "ANGRY BIRDS" on my cellphone, sound turned off of course. Time starts passing, and I glance around every so often and go back to my game. Eventually, I glance up, then back to my phone, and in a split second realize I think I saw a head, so I look back and see nothing. I grab the bino's and look and sure enough I see 1 head, then another, then another. Eventually, one of the does are taken down.

Just wondering, do any of you play games on your phone to pass time, or if you don't what do you do, if you do anything at all? I know some guys will just sit still as rock and never look away from their hunting area. I am just curious.

I'm on my phone 90% of the time.

THF.... nope don't play games. take it but only to text or have in case of emergency with the wife and kids.

I go hunting so I can get away from all electronic devices, I damm sure don't want one in a blind with me. Baker

I dont take phone with unless need to comunicate after the shot(yes).
Put the phone on vibrate and hunt....enjoy the woods is what i do.

I never play games, but I will text on occasion if I have reception. On really slow days I will read a book in my Kindle for iPhone or check THF.

I text my buddy in the other blind. Mess with my fantasy football lineup. I have noticed that if you look away when you look back deer appear from nowhere. Its like watching water boil.

On the forum sometimes and testing with the other hunters on teh lease but not gaming on the phone while hunting

My phone dials and texts. Don't use it on stand. Whatch birds, squirrels, deer...

i dont have reception when i go hunting , thats my story and im sticking to it

I use my Iphone to take pictures and for emergency use only. Dont have any games on it anyway.

Nope but then again I'm not the game playing type unless it's with grandkids then I cheat.

If I am in a box blind...I will play ANGRY BIRDS When it is slow or until my phone hits low battery. I learned the hard way to make sure you have plenty of juice on your phone just in case your ATV runs out of gas the evening you decide to hunt the blind on the furthest reaches of the lease and then have to walk back to the cabin with no communication and only a small flashlight. That's a lot of fun

I have an app for the game battleship. My son and I play eachother in the box blind. Works well to kill time on early afternoon hunts.

I go hunting to get away from all the business of work and life in general. I try my hardest to not communicate with the outside world at all while at the ranch. Sometimes though, I have to take the iPad with me to the stand and read through some documents or respond to emails so that I can stay there and not have to head back home. It sucks, but sometimes responding to emails during one hunt will buy me 3-4 more.

My BIL takes his iPhone with him all the time and is constantly on it. He never sees or shoots anything...

i play games, but i usually get bored pretty easily with those because i don't find them immersive like console or even other handheld games.

Only if I am in a box blind. Cant really do it if I am hunting in a tripod or ground blind. If it gets slow enough, I go to youtube and look up jackrabbit calls for the yotes.

I do some times.....do some txt and have to check out the thf.

Just a little texting. I can't stand that Angry Birds nonsense. My girlfriend is obsessed with it and it drives me nuts.

No, I'm busy looking for that buck that I might get a 5 second glimpse at.I enjoy hunting to get away from my daily ball and chains and when I get bored I will just leave the blind and go driving @ on the 9,500 acre ranch.
