Post up your known locations, contact information, area, and brief outlooks for Pheasant season this year. Landowners, Guides, Outfitters, City, Chamber of Commerce, BSA, 4H, FFA, FHA, Church and school org, even out of State, etc are welcome to list their location, services, and contact info. We all know it is going to be a ruff year but lets start a listing to use from year to year.

Guided or self-guided hunts.web is www.irishcreekoutfitters.com620-960-3894 Haven's a neat little town. Long time since I've visited there but remember Shep Chevrolet and Kritz's Hardware. I'm guessing neither are still around?

I would encourage everyone posting to list whether the location/service is for wild birds or if they use any released birds. Sometimes it is obvious from the location but often it is not. For example, recent discussion of an outfitter indicated that they would be hunting wild pheasant early in the season, with released birds later in the season.
Thanks, Cass

Ballinger (aka shorthair) Well I remained hopeful to the very end. We just finished harvest on milo and corn, strippin cotton now. Since Oct. 2010 less than 2.5 inches rainfall. We set some new record temps to boot. It was hot and Dry all summer. Anything and everything moved into irrigated crops for shade and water. Between predators and drought the bird numbers are very weak up here. Panhandle farmers are now baling crop stalks, wheat stubble already baled and gone. Crp grass had no new growth in 2011. Its a bad situation up here north of amarillo, TX. We need to work on the predator population and PRAY for a pheasant recovery in the spring. My FYI on the panhandle. I sent a e-mail out to my hunters and told them to stay home this year. Also had first hand reports of KS., NE., OK., S.D and N.D. not being much better. First hand reports have just been there or live in states. Be aware of pen raised bird hunts this year. Hope this finds all of you being blessed.
 Upper Texas panhandle pheasant!!

We are in the same situation as Shorthair. We have cancelled all pheasant and quail hunts in southwest Kansas. Pray for moisture! Jeremy

Hate to hear this drought has covered and affected such a big area. They are even baling and feeding disaster cotton crops stalks.
