That is what I tell my Sons, He took it literal. We had to lift the ear to see the entry hole. The exit was not hard to find, when a 130 gr .270 come out it leaves a mark.

He shoots those $14.97 a box Federal shells from Wal-Mart in the blue box. The work on hogs and deer. The 11 year old shots a .308 the other 2 shoot .270's and they have taken a bunch if critters with those loads. They like to shoot prairie dogs with them too, lots of brass after those trips.

I've set a 250# boar down in his track with that 17 but on the same token I've had a 60# sow run 100 yds all depends on angle and shot placement shoot em behind the ear if they are broadside or looking away but if they are facing you shoot for the eye good luck
One side note, NEVER put an armadillo in a paper feed bag.

Nice shot!!!!! Great advise....you will drop 'em every time when you shoot 'em there.

From what I've learned on here, head shots aren't the best choice
