Deer all over the place in Foard county this weekend. Guy on the lease took an ancient 10 point this morning and Dad saw quite a few other deer. None that were shooters on opening weekend but nice ones. I had to work all weekend but he sent me pics to f with me from the stand. Here are a couple. This one is a couple 8 points battling it out This one is a nice 8 but young and can grow some more. The text i got with this was BANG!

Well technically the "ancient" deer was 6.5 years old. they took his jaw and aged him. He was a 10 but with no browtines. So now we potentially have at least 6 or 7 deer with no browtines we will need to cull.

We had a nice 10 taken on our main place, and another guy shot an 8 on a nearby place... I'll get pics up soon

Haha i know right. Does it seem to y'all the pigs are getting thicker? I had been going up there about every couple months just to run the dog, check on stuff and mainly be where its absolutely silent except for nature. I had set the trap every time and hadn't really seen much riding around. But last weekend of October i killed a 150lb hog and then opening weekend we got 7 in the trap over 2 days.

Nice deer. As for the post on javelina, we have seen a couple on our place in crowell. I got one with my bow last friday and also a huge sow. The size of the pigs i have seen amaze me. My family owns around 500 acres in hunt county right on the sabine. We see lots of hogs, but size does not even compare.

I hunted a little this weekend and saw does and a few small bucks. I did see a nice 8pt when driving into town late Sunday morning. He was with a doe. I think the interest level is up but nothing compares to Thanksgiving week for buck activity around there. I will be there then for sure. Have pictures of some really good ones and am ready to get back. Hope the wind stays calm. Saturday was no fun in that wind.
