Would you cull this 4 pointer?

This is the best picture I have of him. Has nearly as much mass as any other deer on picture. Most of the younger deer I'm seeing are pencil thin 6's and 8's. Yet this one is heavier but only 4 points. Is he old enough to cull out, would you give him more time?

He's not broken off. He's right at his ears, and like I said quite a bit heavier than most of the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 year olds we are seeing.

I'm no expert on aging, but I was thinking he looks 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 (leaning more towards 3 1/2 just because of the mass) and we have a ton of what looks to be 2 1/2 year old 8s.

Agree with the others.....definitely a cull and exactly the type we're looking to take on our place. If he was 2.5 or younger, I'd say give him some time. But being older, he needs to be taken out.

You know your herd and your deer. Do what you want! I'd shoot him on my place but that is based on my herd.

That deer is 4.5 if not 5.5 years old. Look at his head, neck and shoulders. Too big for a 2.5-3.5. He needs to go bye-bye. A buck like that will break up the antlers on your better bucks.

I'd say it's time for him to go, i agree with Pokerj, if you have a youngster hunting in your group, would be an awesome buck for them to take.
