I've been rifle hunting for white tail all my life, just getting into bowhunting and loving it. I don't know if I'll ever enjoy rifle hunting again, and I'm perfectly fine with that!

I'm in the same boat. Started about 14 years ago and once I shot a doe at 9 yards I was hooked.

I'll break out the shotgun or rifle if need be, but it has not come to that just yet. Almost but not quite.

I'm a 97%er. Still use the rile on occassion(sp), mostly for pigs at night. Much rather hunt with my bow though, just seems more sporting to me. Not knocking any gun hunters, so don't jump me about it.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.

OK, so where in the state of Texas are the bow hunting (only) leases?

Find a group that only bow hunts and make your lease bow only.
I hunt in Grayson county and it is bow only.

I have a friend that has a lease in Erath, they hunt bow only until the middle of Dec., then guns are allowed. Not a county law just personal choices between members of the lease. I like it that way, trying to find me a lease with guys like that right now.

I've bow hunted deer exclusively with a bow (Tradional) now for about 15 years. What a rush when it all comes together!!! Heading out to New Mexico Jan. 1 for the late season muledeer hunt for about 9 days. Looking forward being in Gods country and charging my battery for another year.

I bought some property 6 years ago that was Bow hunting only and i went out and bought a brand new Bowtech and i have not picked up my gun since.I just got my Dad to buy property where i own and this year before the season started and at 75 years of age we bought him a used crossbow and i personally have to cock it for him every time he goes to shoot but what great dividends it pays.Look at his picture under the Photo section for (My Dads First Bow Kill) He will never pick up his deer rifle again.
