They has 3 of them at Cabela's this afternoon and I sure was tempted. Listed for $399 but probably could have had for $350ish.
Looked to be avg, to slightly below avg condition. Anybody ever owned one? Worth the money? This would be just for plinking, nothing else really.

My universal was not so good, would not feed well with any high cap magazine. The little plastic 5 (i think) round would work well but any 20 or 30 rd would not fit far enough in to keep the round from snagging on the bottom edge of the ramp, tried several magazines... sold it,, maybe better now, this was back in like 1983,,, fmj would kinda work but still hit on the edge of the ramp

I want one, but I want a real one, and everytime I get cash together and start looking I get overwhelmed by all the different makes, models, and conditions. I usually just give up and spend it all on candy...

Have a Rockola original. The Universal ones were hit and miss for quality and reliability, shot some that functioned great while others were singleshots or woorse. One had such a rough chamber there were machining marks on the brass after firing and the brass had to be forced from the chamber. but if you ger one of the good ones they are a lot of fun.
Don't discount what they will do as a short range deer rifle, have used mine starting out a few young hunters. One of my aunrs used one for her primary deer rifle for over 40 years and said she never lost a deer. She knew her limitiations with the gun and stayed in them
