I am looking for a 10' or 12' tripod for bowhunting. I have a couple that are pretty old and need to be replaced. Does anyone know of any manufacturers who make them strictly for bowhunting, without the rail around them and all??

We bought what ever brand Academy sells and then took the rail off. We also took the "legs" or posts off that holds up the rail. I then took conduit and made new legs that were out further than what they were originally. Just so we could put some of the camo burlap around it to help hide movement. Still no top rail. But the ones from academy are the right price- just dont use the rail

if you do get one from academy, DO NOT GET THE ONES WITHOUT THE FLOOR! they are very hard to bow hunt out of.

get one like this, you can use a sawzall to cut the front bar, toward the feeder, off. i left the shooting rail around the back for safety.

The only thing with those tri-pods from Academy seems they get really squeeky at least mine did. We picked up a couple from a place MainStreetFeeders and there awesome. These stands are built to last forever. I would strongly recommend at checking these guys out!
