Hogs will eat just about anything. The sweet feed should lure them in. I used to go to the grocery store and get all of the old produce that didn't sell and throw it out. Worked really well and did not cost anything.

used it this summer and worked better than hog wild or any other packaged hog lure of that sort.

Diesel will attact hogs and doesn't bother them. It will keep deer and coons off the corn.

I have tried using diesel for hogs. Not only did it not attract hogs, but it did attract coons. The coons loved it. My game cam took more pics of coons eating corn with diesel on it then it took of them eating corn without diesel on top. Also, I buried the corn and diesel mixture 8 inches underground. The coons dug it up. Any suggestions?

Yes it works well. I use it to bring piggys in on a new trap location or to bring em back in to an area.

just saying, I haven't had much luck using diesel. It seems that one of the main reasons to use the diesel is to keep the coons off of it and it hasn't worked for me. Using diesel has not drawn the hogs either.

Funny, the coons avoid corn with diesel on my place.

...uhh...Thats easy, kill those rare diesel eating coons before they breed and pass on that unusual gene!

any feed store will carry sweet feed, the recipies will vary depending on which feed mill makes it, what makes it sweet feed is the molassas in it, the feed I bought this morning was heavy on oats, sometimes it will be heavier on pellets, or have alittle more corn in it but it will always have molassas. It's also called Horse and Mule, or Horse and Cattle feed.

Oh, I thought it was some trade name. I understand Horse and Mule (sweet). I was thinking it was a specific brand of hog feed. Will be trying some this next week for sure. READY TO MAKE SAUSAGE!!!! thanks!

I put that out 3 days ago, went back to the lease yesterday evening, son had about 12 pigs bypass the corn and head straight for the sweet feed, he took a 150lb sow, I had an old 8 pt come in and he did the same, bypassed the corn and hit that feed. I also put out some acorn rage about 3 weeks ago at 4 feeder locations, that stuff did'nt last 2 days, 2 of the spots had been rooted by hogs the other 2 the deer hit.

You can mix the sweetfeed with corn in your broadcast feeders in years like this one to pull the deer in when there have been lots of acorns.I mix it 50/50 and have had great results. The corn keeps the sweetfeed from clogging the feeder.
