Been hunting with a mathews solo cam ultra light for the last 10-12 years and I am begning to think it is time for something new-shot my neighbors Z7 (I think is what it was) and was amazed at how smooth it was compaired to mine.
Anyhow, I like mathews, but I am not "married" to that brand, but would lean that way if the others are about the same.
So, what would be your top 3 makes and models for your next bow?

I shoot hoyt, and really like them. I would then check out Elite and Strothers. I'm just not a fan of mathews, because they didn't fit me.

Well depends on how you look at it.
Still kill lots of deer with yours..yelp
New bows are fast, quieter and biggest difference draw cycle vs speed.
Speed bow now have very easy drawing draw cycles compared to ten years ago

I am a big fan of the Mathews, but I shot the Hoyt Carbon Element today and it was VERY NICE, light, smooth, quiet, no vibration and only $1500

I am a Hoyt guy 100%, but i shot the new Mathews HeliM yesterday and I was very impressed it looks like the z7 but fits nice in my hand unlike the z7, its as light as the hoyt carbon element, fast and smooth...Im still a hoyt guy but Mathews looks better to me than they ever have. and I will end this by saying what ever post like this says ITS ALL ABOUT WHAT FEELS GOOD TO YOU

Well I can tell you right now(as a former bowtech owner and used to be lover before today) There are many that surpass it and I do not know what has happened to that company but they just keep heading south, I have owned a Captain actually 2 of them, and a General, but shot a ton of different older models. Captain has got to be one of if not the best bow they ever made!!! These today just suck in comparison!!! Now if you want to know some shooters then read my post I am about to do right now titled "Just got back from the pro shop"

Hoyt is making a big comeback I think. I'm seeing a lot more hunters with them this year. I shot the carbon element a month or so ago and loved it.

It is all about what is most comfortable in your hands. I had PSEs for years and never knew that they did not fit me properly. PSE builds a great bow it just so happened that the 2 I had were too long a draw length for me. I reduced my draw length by 2 inches on my new to me Mathews and I am shooting better than I ever have. A lot of it is the bow having the proper fit makes all the difference in the world. I am not one of those guys that thinks Mathews, Bowtech, Hoyt etc is the end all and be all. I would say shoot them all at a knowledgeable bow shop that can set them up for you to get the best feel. I used to not like Bowtech but it was because the one I shot had too long of a draw length for me because the guy at the shop didn't know what he was doing or didn't care enough to change it for me.
